Hi,

I have problem with router for a long time. I have to reset it often as speed from my router to devices is poor 27-34 dawnload (should be around 50). Restart usually helps. I had enginer recently and he said line is OK but is something wrong with router.

From few days I started to have problem with my phone (was OK earlier). I can't connect to WiFi. My phone see many other networks but not ours. I tried add new network and put details manually but still nothing.

From yesterday two more devices cannot see our network (they worked ok earlier). I tried everything, even put my phone to factory settings but still nothing.

I definitely need a new router but talk talk said router works fine...

Slow speed, intermittent dropouts, breaks in the signal, no signal on some or all devices or no internet access might be caused by Wi-Fi interference from other local networks, which can also lead to a permanent reduction in speed. No ISP can be responsible for your local environment, this is mainly a byproduct of the popularity of Wi-Fi.

However, other factors should be investigated first. When this happens, what are the lights showing on the front of the router? Do you have any wired connections & if so, how do they perform?

Generally speaking, the 2.4GHz band suffers much more from interference than the 5GHz band, but the 2.4GHz one can sometimes have a better range, but this all depends on your local area.

If you would like me to help you, please can you specify the make/model of TalkTalk router that you are using?

From the 29th of March our TalkTalk Community will move to peer-to-peer support and the TalkTalk team will no longer be here to support with queries. Don’t worry we still have plenty of ways to reach out if you need to speak to TalkTalk directly. For more details check out the link here How to contact TalkTalk Broadband - TalkTalk Help & Support
