I have FTTC - yesterday afternoon, my Internet dropped out. When it occurred, I checked my landline phones – they were all dead (no dial tone, no crackle). The Internet spontaneously restored pretty quickly and my speeds are normal (around 17.6/1.3 Mb/s). The landline phones remain silent however. I unplugged the phones and plugged one into the front of the OpenReach box, but this made no difference – still silence.
This morning, the Internet again dropped out and did not restore spontaneously but came back after I rebooted the router. The landline phones are still silent however. When I ring my home number from my mobile, the landline phone does not ring.

Hi Whathim
Openreach have now closed this fault.
Can I just check, has this fault been resolved?
Thanks
Debbie

Hi Whathim
I'm sorry to hear this.
The line test has detected a potential line fault so I have passed this straight over to Openreach to be investigated by a line engineer.
We should receive further updates from Openreach within the next 48-72hrs.
Thanks
Debbie
