Every day this week our internet has gone down. I was wondering if I could get a new router like the one we currently have (Huawei router).
We have tried those Sagemcom routers and they don't provide a strong enough signal to reach all of the rooms in our house. The Huawei routers do provide a strong enough signal for what we need.
Thank you.

Awesome, thank you so much for updating us.

We received the new router today.

Thank you for the support @Gliwmaeden2
Hi there @Joeycat909 the information provided by @Gliwmaeden2 is correct

Ah okay. Thanks. I was worried in case it had gone missing again, like the previous one I returned. I did wonder if the Openreach engineer would bring the router with him. It seemed weird that I would receive the mesh extender but not the router.

The router may even just arrive with the engineer, @Joeycat909. It's generally left very late.

Yes, we have no choice but to wait. However, we have only received the mesh extender up to now. Still no router has been delivered yet.

@Joeycat909 just to confirm you will wait for the full fibre installation?

Our internet was off from Saturday morning until Tuesday night. The engineer didn't come into our home. Wednesday tea time, our internet has another outage. A new engineer was sent, couldn't detect a fault. Came into our home and installed a new telephone socket. He said he thinks the ancient Huawei hg633 is to blame for the problems we are having (which I suspected when I first created this thread and when no help came after the question of "did you return the Sagemcom router?" - which I assume is because the staff members think I'm lying about returning the useless Sagemcom router)
I told TalkTalk I want to cancel my contract. I was convinced by the retention team to stay with TalkTalk for an offer of an upgrade to Full Fibre and a lower price, better router, and free mesh booster which I accepted. So we are waiting for the new Full Fibre installation in just under 2 weeks.

@Joeycat909 Thank you for confirming. I've reviewed your case and can see that your issue has already been escalated to Openreach. It was escalated on 08 November 2025, and a non-appointed engineer has been scheduled to visit within the next 2-3 working days.
Just to clarify, the non-appointed engineer means they will perform necessary work outside your property and won’t need to enter your house.

Yes, I'm still home at the moment.

@Joeycat909 I’m really sorry to hear that your service is still off. I will be able to run checks, please confirm if you are at home to be able to proceed.

Yes, it is still off. I've had to buy a Lebara SIM card with 30gb of data to allow me to access the internet.

Hi @Joeycat909 It's disappointing to hear that your service has been disrupted and that we haven't met your expectations. Before making any final decisions, I kindly ask for a chance to investigate the problem with your service. I will be able to run checks on your line, please confirm if you are still experiencing connection issue today?

Update:
Our internet has been off all day today. As we are getting no help to sort this problem out, I will be going to the bank on Monday and putting the money in to pay the early termination fee for this awful company and will be moving to another ISP who have offered to reimburse us for the early termination fee once we move over. We're done with TalkTalk.

Although, a third-party booster like that one would work, but over time it becomes less compatible with TalkTalk routers.

If I were to buy a TP-Link Aginet Archer VR1210v V2 router, would I be able to use that for my Fibre 35?

Yes, the Sagemcom router was sent back using the plastic bag that came with it, and it was sent in the box and all of the new packaging it came with.

@Joeycat909 Yes you can use Wi-Fi boosters. Did you return the Sagecom router?
on 19-09-2025 03:46 PM
And will there be a charge for that?
on 19-09-2025 03:32 PM
Thank you. Can I use those plug in signal boosters that are available to buy to make the signal stronger for upstairs, with the Sagemcom router?
