Moving devices on router from 2.4 to 5

Hi, looking to find out how I change/allocate devices from 2.4 to 5ghz 9n the sagemcom blue and copper router.

You cannot do anything in the router settings to force a device to use a particular band.

 

Split the SSIDs (give each band a unique name) in the router dashboard.

 

On the device "forget" the SSID that you do not wish to use and set it to automatically connect to the one you wish the device to use.

Hi @S1814,

 

Devices will tend to connect to the most appropriate band based on their proximity to the router, and your personal wireless environment. The 5GHz signal has a much shorter range than the 2.4GHz, so devices that are close to the router are more likely to connect to the 5GHz band, and devices further away are more likely to connect to the 2.4GHz band.

 

Is there any specific reason why you need to force some devices to use a particular band.
