Hi @Jangibson100

To unblock insecure HTTP content in Google Chrome for a specific website, click the Lock icon or "Not Secure" warning on the left side of the address bar, then:-

  • Select "Site settings" from the pop-up menu.
  • Change the "Insecure content" setting to "Allow".
  • After closing the settings tab, reload the page to see the content.

Hi @Jangibson100

What browser are you using on what device? Then I will try & find out how to bypass the site is not secure error when trying to access the router.

Now, to look at the Wi-Fi reception issues.

Do not worry about interpreting the results; I will do that for you. I will send a PM to you that contains a link to a guide of mine on Wi-Fi interference. It is quite lengthy (approximately 30 pages), but you will likely only need to review three or four pages in total. Initially, look at the section called "Are you suffering from interference – prove it first". This is the first link in the table of contents. This section includes full details of free Wi-Fi analysers that I recommend for Windows, Windows phone, Android and Apple operating systems. However, I have no way of testing the Apple product. Select the analyser of your choice & my guide explains how to use it.

If you are using Wi-Fi Scanner, please attach the zip file to this thread. As soon as I have downloaded it, I will remove the attachment from your post to preserve your privacy.

With all other analysers, please follow my instructions below.

Please collect the required screenshots and include them in your reply.

Please post the screenshots to me in a PM (to protect your privacy), which I have requested in my guide. No photos, please, as they can be difficult to read, because the text can get out of focus when zoomed in. Please ensure that the analyser window is maximised (if Windows) before taking the screenshots & uploading them via the "Insert Photos" button (in a mobile browser it's the picture icon) on the post editor's toolbar with the Size parameter set to Large.

Hi @Jangibson100

The site is not secure message is just your browser being over zealous. There should be an override button or whatever for this. Not knowing what browser or device you are doing this on, I cannot be more precise. Try a Google search or tell me & I will see how access the router under these circumstances.

I have offered my help with all issues, please just tell me if you want it or not?

I have restarted the router, when I was first sent the router I set it up had the static white light, chat with the tech team got me nowhere, don't think could work out what to do. It's not in list on phone, can't add the network.after several complaints I actually had someone from the team did something her end and I managed to get into router settings, she had me change things and we where up and running, the other day I was reading emails, when suddenly I had a pop up saying "wrong password" then it went off and no connection since.

I was not even doing anything with the password..very strange .and I cannot access router via 192.168.1.1 just keep saying "site is not secure".

I use my android and use it to pay my bills etc , so it's costing me keep paying for extra data on my phone..

Sorry for the long post

Hi @Jangibson100

I did not want to add this bit about who I am to the last post, as that was long enough as it was.

The information below is provided by TalkTalk. For confirmation, please contact @Lorrainef, the manager of the TalkTalk support staff on this forum.

KeithFrench is one of our valued Community Stars and can help with a range of issues related to wireless and networking. At times, he may ask you to send him test results via a Private Message to help analyse/diagnose an issue. Although Keith does not work for TalkTalk, he very kindly shares his time and knowledge to help others.

If you need further help or if we need to take any details such as personal information about your account, like phone numbers, account numbers, etc, one of the TalkTalk team will jump in and help out.

Hi @Jangibson100

This sounds like a WiFi reception problem if the router's WiFi network is not appearing in your phone's list of networks. I can help a lot with these sorts of issues.

To identify the router, if it is thought to be a hub 3, is not as simple as looking at the label on the router. That is liable just to say "Wi-Fi hub" (@Gliwmaeden2, for your info). The only correct version looks totally different (see below), but even then, there are two variants of this: one correct and one incorrect:-

FAST5359 Hub 3 note light is underneath routerFAST5359 Hub 3 note light is underneath router

However, whichever router you have should work fine, as far as the WiFi is concerned, so this issue needs addressing and I can help.

Slow speed, intermittent dropouts, breaks in the signal or no signal on some or all devices or no internet access might be caused by Wi-Fi interference from other local networks, which can also lead to a permanent reduction in speed. No ISP can be responsible for your local environment; this is mainly a byproduct of the popularity of Wi-Fi.

Generally speaking, the 2.4GHz band suffers a lot more from interference than the much faster 5GHz band, but the 2.4GHz band can sometimes have a better range; however, this all depends on your local area.

In other words, I offer a free, impartial analysis of your Wi-Fi network and will try to help you optimise your Wi-Fi connection. The next stage involves sending out a guide to help you get me some important diagnostic results so that I can analyse them for you and recommend changes to your router configuration to solve them.

I only send this out to people who request it.

Good morning Jangibson100. Have you tried restarting your router to see if this will resolve the issue?

@Jangibson100

This is the same router that you mentioned here?

https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/Broadband/Password-problems/td-p/3120888

It would be helpful to know if it was a hub2 or hub3 model [check very small writing on its back label, underneath the piece that slides out for reading wifi password etc].

Also, if someone in the household has longterm medical conditions for whom their landline etc is vital for support, do record this with Talktalk so they can prioritise repairs etc.

Useful information to follow up later:

Meanwhile, staff will be on here from around 8am.

Community Star @KeithFrench may be able to help with wifi problems too.
