Order using Silver Address Process

I'm trying to get a broadband connection installed for a church, which has never had any connection or phone line. Openreach say "I can see that your address already has a UPRN (Unique Property Reference Number). This means that your Service Provider just needs to place an order for broadband only service / follow their silver address process.

After using the chat feature on TalkTalk's website, they eventually replied with "TalkTalk does not have the 'Silver Address Process'."

Has anyone actually found a successful way to do this with TalkTalk? They're saying the building needs to be registered with Royal Mail, but Openreach implied that the UPRN was sufficient.

I've got other providers I can try next, but went with TalkTalk first as we've used them before at home.

Thanks for any advice!

Several years ago I was a churchwarden and went through the process of ordering TalkTalk Business Broadband for the premises. At the time there was no active phone line at the property, but OpenReach discovered a disused phone line associated with it, which, if I recall came from a nearby pole but was terminated at the point it reached the building. I was present when Openreach came to connect the line and was able to have them route the wire to the location where we planned to install the router. We did not require a voice service.

I suppose now the service to be provided will be FTTP, whereas I was getting FTTC. I recommend procuring a Business service. The church, as a charity, is a business for every other form of service utility, such as gas, electricity and water, so you should get Business broadband as well.

Now surfing from a Dell Inspiron 3881 running Windows 11 and a Qualcomm QCA9377 Wireless Network Adapter with Sagemcom FAST 5364 router.

@Yorkshireman57 doing a Google search for this I found a large number of posts and "solutions" to this issue.

It seems you need to ask TalkTalk or whoever you go with, to raise an ORDI request so your address appears correctly on the Open reach database

Once this is done an order for broadband should be able to be made.

Be sure though to mention that this is for a church and what requirements you wish to be placed on the line, such as for church officials use only or if you are going to be offering free WiFi to the congregation or anyone who visits, so you get the right package for the expected traffic using the connection.

You could also, when phoning ask to speak to the dedicated Full Fibre team.

There is no staff presence on the forum any longer so you will have to phone to discuss

Not sure if this is the best route here either as this is residential sales and you may be classed as a business depending on your needs.

TalkTalk Business Support can be found here should you need it.
