I'm working from home and my work IT have said that I need access to Port 445 in order to access the work drives and that this has been blocked by talk talk. Please can a TalkTalk team member assist and change my settings to allow for this? Thanks

I can help with all aspects of port forwarding. TalkTalk will not configure this for you; you have to do it yourself, but I can help here. However, before doing this I need to understand your scenario better. Please can you answer these questions for me:-

 

  1. Do you connect to your work network via a VPN, if so, does it connect OK?
  2. I assume you are talking about TCP port 445 & not UDP port 445?
  3. Which make/model of TalkTalk router are you using, so I can give you precise configuration help?
  4. I assume that you are using a Windows PC/laptop for this port?
