Sudden Upstream Collapse After 16 Days Stability – FTTC Line Fault

Hi,
I’ve had a stable FTTC connection since 23 May, with upstream consistently around 6.5 Mbps and attainable around 10 Mbps. SNRM was steady at ~10 dB and the line had been up for around 16 days with no issues.

Today the upstream has suddenly collapsed to:

  • 654 kbps sync
  • 3255 kbps attainable
  • 12.7 dB SNRM
  • Errors rising

Downstream remains normal at ~28.6 Mbps with attainable ~47 Mbps.
Attenuation is unchanged.
No changes to internal wiring or equipment.

This is an upstream‑only line fault, not DLM and not a router/Wi‑Fi issue. The pattern matches an HR fault, water ingress, or a cabinet port problem.

Could you please raise this with Openreach for:

  • PQT (Pair Quality Test)
  • Lift‑and‑shift if the port is faulty
  • Engineer visit if PQT fails

The fault is active right now.
Thanks.

John
