The next stage involves sending out a guide to you to help you get me some important diagnostic results so that I can analyse them for you and recommend changes to your router configuration to solve them.

I only send this out to people who request it.

Hi Keefe2010

Thanks for your reply.

I can see that @KeithFrench has offered to help. Keith provides really great advice on improving wireless performance.

You are currently using the Sagemcom WIFI hub 1 with FW version 136. I have also switched off the WIFI optimisation.

Thanks

Slow speed, intermittent dropouts, breaks in the signal, no signal on some or all devices or no internet access might be caused by Wi-Fi interference from other local networks, which can also lead to a permanent reduction in speed. No ISP can be responsible for your local environment, this is mainly a byproduct of the popularity of Wi-Fi.

Generally speaking, the 2.4GHz band suffers much more from interference than the 5GHz band, but the 2.4GHz one can sometimes have a better range, but this all depends on your local area.

If you would like me to help you, please can you specify the make/model of TalkTalk router that you are currently using?

Hi Debbie

You supplied me with a new router earlier this year.

Since using it I have been having problems with the computer connecting to the printer. This has also meant not being able to print from iPads wirelessly.

Epson suggest it is caused by the TP-Link booster I have interfering with the network signal.

This has only occurred since the new router arrived.

Can you give any advice?

Opps  Seemed to have sent this more than once.

Thank you

Keith

That would be fantastic. I've had no joy with the chat system and just meet dead ends when trying any other way to contact them.

PS I've not sorted out the protocols on here yet!!!

Then maybe it is faulty, I will ask TalkTalk to consider replacing the router for you. They will not pick up my request until at least tomorrow now.

Unless you have an old router like the HG635, each router has its own unique admin password. What make/model of router do you have?

Hi, Simply when I log into the router as admin/admin ie default after reset, it allows me to log on, says hello and then returns to logon screen. Repeat etc etc

Please can you elaborate, do you mean that you can't log into the router? If so, are you using the router (admin) password on the label on the rear of whichever make/model of router that you have? It is not the wireless username/password.
