Can anyone help, when I am playing games on Xbox, I get a lot of rubber banding, I have tried turning off router, changing WIFI channel etc, but nothing seems to work.

its constant rubber banding, so I am wondering if my router is either not up to date or its just too Old I've had it about 5 years

Morning,

I'm sorry for the delay. I've run a test on the line now which hasn't detected a fault. Can I just confirm, have you also tried powering down the router for a full 30 minutes and then retested again, as this will reset the current session and can often improve the throughput speeds?

Thanks

Thank you, they may find something that the online checker can’t.

Speed on router is 40mps I also get rubber banding in my computer.

I’m not full fibre as its not available in my area yet
When I do a line test no problems found, I don’t understand why this happening.

Do you get problems accessing the internet from any other devices?

What package are you on & unless you have an ONT, what speed does the router show in its initial dashboard area?

Rubber banding moving in a game and like a rubber band go back constantly. This happens on both WiFi and wired connection.

Router is normal I’ve even logged into it to check for problems.
Unfortunately I can’t tell you about the router atm as it’s in a room where a night worker is sleeping. As for the lights I only get the orange light when it’s rebooted I turned the light off.

Please can you elaborate by answering these few questions:-

1. Exactly what do you mean by rubber banding?

2. What make/model of router do you have (if this is a TalkTalk router, these details will be on a label on the rear or underside of it)?
3. What is the exact status of the lights on the front of the router when this happens?
4. If you have any wired connections, are they affected in the same way as wireless ones?
