Hello all,
I've had my line for a few years now, and was with BT until Jan this year when I switched to TT. Last year some time I kept having drops & after a long drawn out battle got some Openreach guy to come take a look and a leg in the cab was loose. He sorted it but ever since then my line connects at 48998kb, never goes any higher (not that it would really go all that much higher anyway as it use to connect low/mid 50s)
So I swap over to TalkTalk and I get the same "limit"
The upload changes but never download. It's not a problem as any increase would be negligible in the grand scheme of thing, just interested to hear if it's an actual thing?

Hi Garry,
Thanks for updating your profile. Your line profile is capping your speed at 49Mbps. The line management system (DLM) constantly monitors your line and makes adjustment to your connection speed based on the number of error and disconnections in a given amount of time, so it's decided that the current speed gives the best compromise between speed, disconnections and errors.
