After having unreliable broadband as its old cables and not even copper coming into the property finally decided to get fibre .Easy to sort out by phone...but closer to the date of instalment i checked to see if the engineer was coming and found out that i was going to be charged £2000 ground work before instalment and asked if I want to cancel so I did.I later had the update router sent and someone was very helpful telling my what the issue had been with the previous new router that i had to return...Anyone in conversation i mentionwd about the cost of fibre and reassured that I would not be charged so this was confirmed via email and I was passed onto the sales again to sign up again for fibre...a date was set....then a week or so later I was contacted to inform me my fibre package was cancelled because Talktalk wont pay Open reach for the digging up and connecting to the cabinet ..so back to square one...also I was kindly told I wouldnt be charged....charged for what..I have since had various messages from Open reach about the delay and as far as they are concerned its still going ahead....Im now really confused....I have wasted hours upon hours contacting Talk talk over a short period of time and now at the end of my tether..wasted text and irrelevant updates..even asking if i would like to be contacted via messenger...so said yes.

.started the chat and then told the complaint issue is ongoing and has to be done by telephone...The left hand doesnt know what the right hand is doing...this is the perfect way to get negative scoring on public surveys....if theres anyone that can enlighten I would appreciate it..

Hi @Prelude I'm sorry to hear this, we don't like to see our customers upset and inconvenienced. I have investigated on your account and I do see that the order is placed on the account and estimated go live date is the 25.06.2025, your order has not been called. I have updated the complaint you the follow up on your complaint is the 23.06.2025.

I've never heard of the customer being charged like that, @Prelude.

 

It actually sounds more like a scam!
