I've come here looking for something else and stumbled across this thread.

As a long term TalkTalk customer I have heard nothing of this. Pretty poor show, not keeping customers informed.

Your current contract will continue after the migration with Utility warehouse, meaning your contract term will remain the same, you will be charged contract breakage fee if you cancel within contract.

@jseltt no problem. I was surprised by the Carphone bit!

I hope the information I provided helps you understand the process and what your options are going forward.

Do you mean Utility Warehouse?

If so there is advice given on the MSE forum, and this is to check the terms and conditions of your contract, where it appears it is allowed there, and of your terms are upheld your contract continues.

This happened in reverse recently where Shell customers were transferred to TalkTalk, and those customers could no leave without charge until the end of their contract.

If you are out of contract then you can leave without penalty, but I'd leave it until the transfer is complete to avoid. complications

Hi there @jseltt , thank you for reaching out to us, just so I can understand better, you have been informed that your broadband account has been transferred to Carphone Warehouse and this was done without your approval?

Have a look as isppreview and you will see TT are doing exactly as I said. Only telling me after the event is most unproffessional

Have you logged into My Account?

I doubt it's been transferred as Car phone Warehouse don't offer broadband, unless Currys, who now owns them have gone a white label deal with someone.

How did TalkTalk communicate this to you? If by email have you checked the sender's details by hovering over the email address to see who actually sent it?

TalkTalk would not transfer anyone to another ISP without the correct authority, and once they receive a request would email you to confirm your instructions.

Please check the sender of the mail and complete the information requested by @sabelo-TT

Thank you.

Hello there @jseltt, Before continuing any further, please update your community profile and add your landline number and/or account number so your account can be identified. Please don't post personal information here. Please do confirm once done.
