There is a grace period after leaving TalkTalk during which your emails will continue to work.
Every so often TalkTalk check for emails where broadband has been discontinued and send those customers a link to subscribe to Everymail. How long this period is, is not known.
You cannot subscribe without the link.
Check your spam regularly too as some are known to have gone into there.
The grace period does give you the opportunity to set up a free Hotmail or Gmail account and transfer to these should you wish to do so.
