Do not connect this new version of the FAST266 WiFi booster until you have checked the firmware version on your Sagemcom Wi-Fi Hub. The Wi-Fi Hub must be running a minimum of V202 firmware, before attempting to connect this V2 Wi-Fi Booster. If it is running V174 or older on the hub, this may damage the new booster.

To check the Wi-Fi Hub firmware, go to any page in the router's UI (even the login page) and the firmware is displayed in the bottom left of each page. It needs to be on V206 or later.

If your hub is on V174 or older please create a new thread on this forum & it will be updated to the latest version.

V2 Fast 266 connection procedure

First place the FAST266 WiFi Booster near the Wi-Fi Hub. then follow the WPS procedure in the booster's documentation. After a successful WPS connection, leave the FAST266 where it is for 30 mins to allow for firmware updates and then, if stable, it can be turned off & relocated to its desired location.

Note: the Wi-Fi Booster set-up guide provided with this unit is wrong. The correct procedure is shown below:-

  1. Log into the router’s UI & make sure that WPS is enabled on both the 2.4 & 5GHz Wi-Fi bands. Only the 2.4GHz is shown below, repeat for the 5GHz band:-

Dashboard > See Wi-Fi Settings > Manage Advanced Settings > Wi-Fi 2.4Ghz gear icon > WPS

  1. Turn the 266 Wi-Fi Booster on, & the light underneath will flash orange.

  2. Wait for the light to change to a steady orange glow. This denotes that it is ready to be paired with the Wi-Fi Hub.

  3. Press the WPS button on the Wi-Fi Hub for about 3 seconds & its LED flashes orange. On the F266 Booster, press its WPS button for 5 seconds.

  4. The light on the booster will now start flashing blue (WPS pairing in progress).

  5. Once complete the light will be steady blue.

When the firmware update commences, this sequence will be seen:-

  1. The light flashes green and blue briefly, then flashes orange.

  2. The rate of orange flash increases.

  3. Following a brief pause it flashes orange again.

  4. Solid green briefly, then solid blue.

Just in case, please leave it like this for 30 mins, before turning off & moving it to the desired location.

Turning on after a WPS connection

Whenever the Fast266 is turned back on, already having a connection to the Wi-Fi Hub, the light sequence is as follows:-

  1. Power on, light flashing orange

  2. Speed of the flashing orange light increased

  3. Brief pause then continued flashing orange

  4. Solid green, slight pause followed by solid blue
