@Emmabill, with Fast (ADSL) Broadband and FTTC, the phone line and broadband can't be separated. They both come along the same copper line fundamentally.

To not use a Talktalk number at all, and only broadband, you'd need to upgrade to Full Fibre.

That's FTTP (to the premises).

Check whether that's available to you:

https://www.talktalk.co.uk/broadband/upgrade

However, if you click on the small print at the foot of that page, you'll probably find that none of the packages ends up being cheaper.

From the 29th of March our TalkTalk Community will move to peer-to-peer support and the TalkTalk team will no longer be here to support with queries. Don’t worry we still have plenty of ways to reach out if you need to speak to TalkTalk directly. For more details check out the link in the post at the top of any forum message board.

You will need to speak to the Loyalty Department for this, their direct numbers are 0345 1725157 & 0330 1278960.
