Hello I’m just trying to get help with this issue, my internet speed has dropped considerably recently and is really low now but doesn’t remain stable at all, sometimes I’ll check and it’s 3mbps and it only really goes as high as 7mbps right now and I’ve had the same Router for a good few years

Good morning,

Thanks for the update. I've re-run the line test now which is now clear. Could you try powering down the router for a full 30 minutes please and then run another speed test following this. This will reset the current session and can often increase the throughput speeds. Please let us know how you get on.

Thanks

Michelle

Saying issue has been fixed and will monitor my connection for the next few days, nothing has really changed apart from the upload speed going up

Morning,

I'm sorry to hear this. I can see that Openreach are investigating a potential fault. Please let us know how you get on.

Thanks

So you are on FTTC and these speeds are seriously down! And the phone shouldn't be causing interference.

They'll have you plugging in to the test socket etc to start eliminating various factors, @andyy90.

All rather arduous but has to be done. If you ask the Chat / Phone people to help over the weekend, try contacting them using your mobile data, rather than Talktalk landline / wifi etc because when they actually run the test the line drops. You usually lose the conversation altogether. ..... !

Hi Gliwmaeden thanks for replying my  guaranteed Speed is 35mbps but getting nowhere near that right now,

What I have noticed lately is that when my landline cordless phone rings it interferes with the internet and it goes off

Are you on basic Fast Broadband, @andyy90? What is the minimum guaranteed speed indicated in the graph when you check in My Connection?

Another question that may help diagnosis: do you get crackling  or other noises on the landline?

Staff are not back on here before Monday, but support is available over the weekend  by phone  / Chat at the hours publicised here:
