Hi there @ferguson @fr8ys @Gliwmaeden2 Thanks for helping out.

@KmogReborn It appears that because you're on a GFast package and upgrading your package to Full fibre 900 is impossible, you were informed you will be moved to UW . However, this upgrade is only possible if you cancel your current account and set up a new one specifically for full fibre services.

@KmogReborn, I was referring to the content of the email you had been sent by Talktalk informing you of the transfer to Utility Warehouse.

If it had contained any personal information it would have been important to remove [redact] any of that before posting, as I said.

You should never post a personal email address or any other private information in any public thread whether on the Talktalk forum or anywhere else. Thankfully my colleague has removed this for you in a timely fashion!

@KmogReborn

I have removed your email address there, it is never a good idea to post details like that in public

Hi Gliwmaeden2 , what email ?  Do you mean my current email address that I want to keep is so *removed for security*

I think  I`ve had it since the last century 😜  ..

My contact ends 27 Jan .. I was told at that point I would be transferred NOT that I was already transferred and THAT is the reason I cannot switch ..

I was given NO option to NOT switch and I told them to let my contract end ..

Sry if Im a bit of a grump ..

I suspect the time to act on an upgrade to Full Fibre with TalkTalk has passed sadly. If you were able to do so, better to have done it earlier with the benefit of hindsight.

Let's just see if the support team can help at all when they are back online tomorrow.

TalkTalk don't need your permission to switch you to another company. This is a term in your contract. We have seen this in reverse when Shell customers were transferred to TalkTalk.

If your contract does end 26th Jan then giving 30 days notice should allow you to move.

For safety though and too ensure you are not without the internet at any stage, I would allow the transfer to occur, then sign up with a supplier of your choice and also phone UW to give notice especially if you move to full fibre as the switching between companies is not possible. You wouldn't want to end up paying UW and another supplier.

Are you able to post the email on here, after redacting all personal information, @KmogReborn?

I don't think they would be required to have your permission if there's no change to the package price (for the core product).

The areas to check are the costs of add ons which may not have direct equivalents to what you had with TT. Check through the terms and conditions on UW's own website.

NB if you are within the last 30 days of your contract, you would normally be able to leave Talktalk without early termination fees.

Check the same with UW.

Hi theres nothing on that webform.. I put my name account number etc ..

So it looks like TT switched me over to a new company !!?  Without my permission too ..

They told me about the switch but NOT that it was compulsory ..

I believed at the end of my TT contract 26/jan then I could just walk away ..

Unfortunately I think you will find that if they transfer you on the same terms and conditions your contract ties you in to UW until the end of your contract period and to move sooner would incur a penalty fee.

On a more positive note though, we have seen some customers who were being transferred receive notifications that they could not be transferred on exactly the same terms as there would be an additional charge for part of their package. As such they could leave UW penalty free within 30 days.

My advice would be to await notification to see if you are one of these customers and if not sit out your contract, then leave. Or if you are already out of contract don't agree a new one as you are then free to move.

OK, it will help if you make sure that your personal details including TalkTalk phone number or account number are complete on your community profile (click here) so that the support team can link your forum identity with your account and then wait for them to respond.

Dafter still!

Let's see if the support team can arrange a call from somebody suitable to try and sort out what you want: i.e. stay with TalkTalk and upgrade to Full Fibre, yes?

Ah, you may be too far down the switch route to upgrade now. I would still give them a bell though, it seems daft if they can't find a way to keep a customer who doesn't want to leave!
