My existing contract ends in approximately five weeks time. I have received a good offer to renew. If I renew now will I forfeit the remaining time on my present contract or will renewed contract become live and continue on from the expiry date.

Yes, @Lasamarc, it will renew as soon as you agree the new contract - so NOT like home / car insurance where you can agree a start date further ahead. More like gas and electricity companies, where the contract kicks in as soon as you agree a new tariff.
