A question about e.mails and security

Hi all.
I know not to open obvious spam e.mails as it lets the spammers know my mail address is live and that I'm just inviting tons more of the stuff.
When I forward possible phishing emails to report@phishing.gov.uk and phishing@talktalk.co.uk I can see a "greyed" copy of the e.mail and I sometimes use the forward option just to open the greyed version so I can review the e.mail before deciding whether it its legit or to spam it or send a phishing report.
My question is does hitting the forward option send anything back to the spammer? Am I letting them know my address is live by doing this?
Regards

Hi td123, there is no standard system to notify the sender that you've forwarded the mail.
