Auto delete of emails of mail from mailbox

A number of years ago I set my inbox to never delete inward and same for outward mail.

From memory I was able to set this from my email account.

In recent months I had a need to search something a year old only to find all inward email had been deleted apart from the last month.

I cannot understand why and neither can i find a way to reset this requirement.

Help appreciated.

Thanks.

Those settings for handling of deleted messages don't relate to TT webmail. Normally those settings would be part of a client like Outlook, Apple Mail or Thunderbird.

I use TalkTalk web mail to collect and receive mail

for all my devices but this problem relTES TO WEBMAIL

I use TalkTalk web mail as my main collector and sender.

It is this where the problem lies.

I use Thunder Bird as a secondary mail program to receive

emails sent on by TalkTalk and for sending emails.

The secondary  program is ultimately used for current items.

In the past deleting inward or sent items in Thunderbird did not result in items being deleted from TalkTalk.

I mention this just in case this is relevant.

Thanks for your interest.

Hi Wedge19, which mail client are you using? Is that the same on all devices?
