I can receive but not send emails via Thunderbird. Having checked with Talktalk webmail I find that they appear with no problem , Which suggests I think that my account setting is faulty, but having checked my settings I cannot find the cause.
I am not particularly computer savvy so grateful for any suggestions.

I have sent a test email to talktalk as suggested and it has been acknowleged and Thunderbird now appears to be working OK. Very confusing. Thanks for your help

Those settings are fine, what happens if you try to send an email to this test address:-
You should get a response back looking like this:-
If you do not get anywhere, what happens if you try a different email client, such as Windows Mail & Calendar (if you are using Windows of course)?

Upload them via the "Insert Photos" button (in a mobile browser it's the picture icon) on the post editor's toolbar with the Size parameter set to Large. If they are too small, I will not be able to read them & although I can enlarge them, this puts the text out of focus. If you prefer PM them to me. If you do PM me, then please add a link in there to this thread, so that I can find it easily.

My Talktalk address is a talktalk.net address , I have taken a screenshot but dont know how to send it to you. This problem has only arisen recently.Grateful for your help.

What type of email address are you using, is it a talktalk.net one?
Please can you attach a screenshot of your SMTP settings in Thunderbird?
