Over the last month it's been very hit and miss whether emails are sent. The log states "Reject for policy reason".

Today I have tried sending emails to various recipients all of whom received messages perfectly well yesterday.

I notice that many other customers are suffering from this problem.

I am shortly due to renew my account and I'm questioning whether I should stay with TalkTalk, though I have been with them for many years.

Same problem which I reported yet again today to TalkTalk.  Not the fault of my email client OE Classic but a problem that TT needs to swiftly address or they will indeed start to lose customers.

It doesn't look as though @SJW78 has had a definitive resolution to their problem. As ferguson says, using an obsolete email client on an obsolete operating system is fraught with risk.
However, you could try the settings for sending mail as given at
https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/Articles/Email-settings-to-access-TalkTalk-emails/ta-p/2204399
In particular you could try changing TLS to Yes. The screenshot you showed had it set to No.
It is so long since I used OE Classic that I can't remember what settings I used.

Now surfing from a Dell Inspiron 3881 running Windows 11 and a Qualcomm QCA9377 Wireless Network Adapter with Sagemcom FAST 5364 router.

Please do let us know if it happens again so we can look into it for you. Is there anything else you would like me to assist you with at the moment?

I have sent to a couple of gmail addresses today successfully but it seems random whether it works or not, even with the same recipient.

Same problem recently recurred "Reject for policy reason". It happened with gmail.com and ntlworld.com recipients. I'm using Outlook as installed on my PC.

I do apologize about that. I didn't mean to ask you to confirm your email address publicly.

Thank you for interjecting re the email address being asked for in public. I was so caught up in the fraught conversation I didn't think. You're right about Win 7 of course. I keep it becauseI I have old dedicated software there. I do have a Win 10 (which I hate) laptop so perhaps best to migrate my email programme there. Thanks for your input.

Hmm, it might be worth trying another email client. But if you are using a PC that can only use Windows 7, which has not been fully supported for over 15 years, then you are bound to find that some things will simply not work anymore.

From the 29th of March our TalkTalk Community will move to peer-to-peer support and the TalkTalk team will no longer be here to support with queries. Don’t worry we still have plenty of ways to reach out if you need to speak to TalkTalk directly. For more details check out the link here: How to contact TalkTalk Broadband - Help & Support.

We are going round in circles here. I have already stated that I only use my PC for email. No other device. I use an email client called OEClassic which is an application purely for PC. I do not use Webmail for sending or receiving messages.  The OEClassic programme has worked perfectly with TalkTalk for years - and still does for receiving emails. It is purely the sending of emails which are rejected by the TalkTalk server.

@angelique-TT

Forgive me for interjecting, but I am surprised that you asked for details of the sending email address here in public.

Yes I understand however I needed to confirm. Let me know how are you accessing your email service. Are you using the TalkTalk webmail ( https://apps.talktalk.co.uk/appsuite) or using an App or Program from your device?

How are you accessing your email?
