Can’t send emails

I have been unable to send emails for 48 hours. I understand that this was because I didn’t register for the new service (it was impossible to do this without paying £50 but I am a talktalk broadband customer. I spoke to a number of advisors yesterday who eventually registered me and  told my full service would be restored in 24 hours. This timescale has been and gone and I am still unable to send emails. 
can you help please?
