Hi @Billx The email the customer received states that the legacy email addresses cannot be used for password resets, hence they need to create a new one, if you were able to reset the password on your myaccount, you can continue to do so and once you are unable than you will also require to change your email address for myaccount.

Hi, @Mandisa-TT
Where did you get "the email you are using falls under a category that is no longer supported for online password resets"
There is no such thing.
I have done recent online password resets, on a talktalk.net email address, and a tiscali.co.uk email address.
This is very important
Thank you.

Hi @Npwat The email you are using falls under a category that is no longer supported for online password resets. These include addresses from domains like talktalk.net, tiscali.co.uk, and others listed in the email.
You need to create a new email address (e.g., from services like Gmail or Yahoo) to manage your TalkTalk account and receive communications.
I will be able to update your email address for your myaccount, kindly add an email address on your private note on your profile and let me know when done and I will be able to update it for you.

Hi, @Npwat
The important thing is whether you are a TalkTalk broadband customer or not.
If you are not, you have to move your email address/es to another email provider.
If you are a TalkTalk broadband customer and are using a @talktalk.net email address as the username for your TalkTalk MyAccount, then you can continue using your @talktalk.net email address, both as your TalkTalk MyAccount username, and as a separate normal email address. It is important that for each of these 2 uses you use a different password. You also have to be careful how you save the 2 passwords in your browser's password manager.
I used to use a gmail.com address to log in to TalkTalk MyAccount, but are now using a @talktalk.net email address for this purpose. It is working nicely. Billing emails arrive well.

@Npwat, I read your message just before it vanished!
It's not clear whether or not this only affects your Talktalk billing emails - it actually would be a good idea to change that to Gmail / Yahoo / Hotmail....whatever free address you can set up if you haven't yet got one.
Talktalk doesn't like people using Talktalk email for receiving notifications about billing - so it is a good idea to have a non Talktalk address associated with My Account for billing purposes.
It's also a good idea to make sure that any legacy addresses are specifically associated with your current Broadband Account.
Add the threatened email address in Private Notes in your community forum profile details: go via your avatar; settings. Complete Personal Information and find Private Notes lower down. Then SAVE CHANGES.
Support staff will then be able to look into this for you and it may be possible to rescue the address.
