We have been Talktalk customers for many years and are continually receiving emails telling us to click on the link to upgrade to a new version of webmail. The source of the emails is always different and doesn't look legitimate. This is the latest

Is this yet another scam or do we need to take some action? Thanks

I understand, you do not have to sign up, you have an active broadband account with us and your email address is linked to your account. Your email address will not be closed.

@suensteve, sorry, the posts from the other customer confused the thread, as they twice mentioned clicking on the link, but I'd had to remove the live link from your first post when it originally showed, so was surprised to see it happen again yesterday in your more recent post!
It looks like you really are getting nasty phishing scam messages that are exploiting the recent changes and uncertainty around Talktalk's email service.
Do deal with them as you would any scam emails (as directed by Mandisa-TT) and remember that they should never be reposted in a public thread (on any website) as unwary / curious readers really might click on them and be vulnerable to malware, or whatever nasties are lurking there.

I understand, I have gained access to your account and I do see that you have an active broadband account and you do not have to sign up to everymail. Your Tiscali email address is linked into your broadband account.
Any email asking for passwords or urgent upgrades is a scam.

They are unknown email addresses. This week i have probably had about 5 in the inbox and the same in spam.
yesterday
I understand @suensteve please confirm if you did click on the link you were given on your email to sign up to everymail to retain your email address?
yesterday
I have not clicked on any links. This is the first time I have used this service and am not familiar with how it works. I will not include a live link in future. Sorry

Hi @Gliwmaeden2 thank you so much for your help.

@AndrewNaylor, if you have paid to keep your address, whether using Mailplus or Everymail, you will have your emails managed by Everymail and Talktalk will not be responsible for the management of them. No point posting on the Talktalk forum.
Use Everymail for support.
Wednesday
@suensteve and @AndrewNaylor, please NEVER POST LIVE LINKS LIKE THAT!
It's irresponsible - having both clicked on live links yourselves, I'd have thought you would have known to be more careful when posting in the community.

Hi, @AndrewNaylor
You should open your own thread, Andrew.
Click on 'Email' at the top within the heading, "Home | Help with your service | Email | Re: Email Closure threat"
Then click on 'Start a new topic'.
Copy what you've said here into your new thread.
Edit: These are obviously phishing emails, the sender pretending to be TalkTalk.
After you've opened the emails, what is the From: email address/es on them?
Don't do any more clicks on the emails.

Hi, @suensteve
These are obviously spamming/scamming emails. (They are unknown email addresses to you, correct?)
You should not click on them.
If they had all the same email address or email domain, then you could 'Blocklist' the email address/domain within the 'Blocklist' in TalkTalk webmail. Since their email addresses/domains vary, then an email filter/rule could come into play.
Could you please say, whether they are all put in the Inbox folder, in the Spam folder, or some in each?
Roughly, how many in total did you get in the last week?
I will give some more info when you reply.

@suensteve Just to clarify, is the most recent email from the same sender as the previous ones, or is it from a different address?
