Hi Clive, if you add your email address to the private notes in your profile I can keep an eye on it being limited.

I notice that the incoming mail is shown as:- mail.talktalk.net:993:1       but the example in the help page for outlook shows

it as:- imap.talktalk.net:993:1

Which is right?   Clive

Using port 465 will get you limited again. 587 is accepted.

I took the decision to delete the TalkTalk entry and waited a while and then re- instated my email address.

Looked at the set up and it shows:-  Incoming:- :993:1

                                                                  outgoing:-     :465:1

all 4 boxes ticked.

Going to Talktalk web mail there are 3 messages which do not appear in my inbox,

I have followed the settings for Microsoft Outlook, using the shown detail but no joy! It has completely flummoxed me.

MAIL.talktalk.net993

SMTP.talktalk.net.587

2 boxes ticked. 2 not ticked

The correct email settings and the only ones you can use are here in the Email Settings Help Article.

Hi Ady, thank for the reply. Firstly Win 10 had a fit and I ended up having to reload everything and I loaded Outlook for Win 10. It needed settings put in so I followed the letter from Sept. last year. It came up with a yellow band across the top of the screen saying I needed to put in a new password or allow it to Sync?

I see there are variations of incoming mail and out going mail . SMTP  which I followed.

I send and email , it sits in the outbox. My assumption is it an out going mail problem.

I am stuck and do not know how to fix.  Clivve

Hi beeman86, what error are you getting? Is that username or password is incorrect?
