Important emails from trusted sender going into Spam folder

Over the last couple of weeks all emails from a longstanding and trusted sender are going into my Spam folder.  Each time I verify as 'not spam' but the system has not picked it up and made any changes.  All these emails are regarding important Power of Attorney business so I need to get this sorted but don't know how!
