Ask us about your TalkTalk email account and Webmail.

I recently decided to move to a new ISP but want to keep my email address. My option should be to use Everymail. Unfortunately when I try to subscribe to Everymail instead of getting subscription options I just get access straight to my TalkTalk webmail. I have tried to get TalkTalk to assist me with the problem but I am simply told to contact Everymail support. There is no human support at Everymail unless you subscribe; but I dont have the option to. How do I get this resolved? Also would someone tell TalkTalk support that telling someone that Everymail support is there only option is not very useful if you cant get any until you subscribe. If I lose any email because of the nonsense that is currently going on I am going to be quite upset.

Thank you so much for the support @Gliwmaeden2, we have not yet received clarification on how long customers will be able to continue using webmail after disconnection, once we have received it, we will update you.
Hi there @john_angry The information provided by @nambuso-TT is correct, you should be able to continue using your emails without any issues, until we send you communication with a link to subscribe to Everymail.

@john_angry, I'll flag this up as we definitely need clarification about whether you have use of webmail for a further 2 years - or whether you were just being told the previous set up, so not up to date information.
If the new set up applies [i.e. signing up with Everymail after receiving an email link from Talktalk] then it's still too soon.
If Talktalk is dealing with these in batches, they are not going to be able to "release your account" individually as it's not part of the process set up with Everymail.

i am sorry @nambuso-TT but that is not a useful response at all. I got through to a UK call centre and they went to the back office staff to get the answer I posted. I still don't have an email confirming what was said; typical TalkTalk. If you are saying that what I was told is incorrect then you should state so clearly and why. If you are saying that it is not then you need to release my email account so that Everymail can take it over. I will add this response to the complaint I started.

I’m very sorry to hear this @john_angry . I can confirm that since you recently disconnected your account, you will receive communication from us to subscribe to Everymail. Please note that these notifications are sent out in batches, so it may take a little time. Thank you for your understanding, and I apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

Any update from your manager yet. I dont think we have an email from the UK call centre yet.

@Gliwmaeden2 Thank you for raising this important question regarding email access for former customers. I have escalated to Manager for a clear policy statement regarding email access for former customers.

@Mandisa-TT, hitherto staff were saying that former customers would only have email access for a month or so after leaving.
Could we have a clear policy statement on this?

Hi @john_angry Thank you for your detailed update and for taking the time to navigate this challenging situation. I’m glad to hear that you were able to clarify the status of your emails.

After an awful lot of digging and a complaint, I have got to the bottom of the problem of subscribing to Everymail. The non UK call centre seem to have a really awful script to follow filled with inaccuracies which would leave most customers fuming. In the end I was forwarded on the phone to what I am guessing was a UK call centre. An hour talking later we got down to why this is a problem. My Talk Talk account was closed on the 29th October 2025. Customers still have a grace period of 2 years using the email account (without paying) before being asked to subscribe to Everymail; that is why it is not possible for me to subscribe at the moment. At the end of the two year period a notice will be sent by email telling you that you need to pay if you still have the email account. I have asked for an email to be sent confirming this information and the call centre manager should do so in the next 24 hours. I am guessing that for people who left less that 2 years ago you probably haven't got the email link yet to let you subscribe because it is still free until your 2 years is up.
Once I get the email I will confirm this post.

Hi @john_angry I understand your concerns regarding the transition to Everymail and the importance of retaining your email address.
Since you have recently left TalkTalk(30.10.2025), you do not need to sign up for Everymail immediately. You will receive further communication about the sign-up process shortly, so there’s no need to worry about losing access to your email.

I'm having the same problem and on the everymail support it says that email will be permanently deleted on 31st October (last week) if not subscribed. But no email received and no way to subscribe. I'm also becoming angry.

@Gliwmaeden2 that is correct. @john_angry please answer the question that has been asked by @Gliwmaeden2

How recently did you leave Talktalk, @john_angry?
You should get an email from them with a link to sign up to Everymail, but I believe they are sending these out in batches.
