I have the same issue.  I access my emails using two different Apps on my phone and two different ones on my computer and Webmail on both.  The credentials message appears frequently but not constantly.

I reset my password using the original password and this allows access on any access I chose.

Using Forgotten Password is awkward as the email option won't work if you can't access email and the SMS option does not work if I use the computer.

I suspect the issue is Talktalk and not the user

Hi Roy124

If you don't understand the concept of an added secondary email account as described in the topic you originally hijacked as being "the same issue" then probably what I described does not apply to you.

You say the credentials message appears intermittently. So under what circumstances does that message appear and is it only when using webmail or when using email software?

Then you're indicating you haven't got an alternative email set up for password recovery. So let's get that fixed first.

Select here: Sign in to TalkTalk Mail

Enter your full TalkTalk Mail email address, select Continue and enter the password, select Sign in.

Update your reset details is a menu item via the user avatar top right assuming your mailbox is migrated to the new look Mail platform. Via that option you can set a password recovery alternate email address and a mobile phone number.

"Let me know if this situation applies to your primary mailbox. If you don't know how to update the secondary account password I'll guide you."

I have used Talktalk for decades.  My problem is with what I believe is my primary email address.  My wife's email, which I comsider is the secondary, has had no issues at all.

How do I find the 'primary ' email?
