My emails going to recipients spam folders

In the recent weeks I have realised that a good proportion of my emails are going to to recipients' spam folders. Some are those with links or attachments. Some are just regular messages/emails. Is there anything I can check on my side to see if everything is set correctly? or any other advice please

Same with me. It is random and happens  also with recipients other than hotmail and gmail, and one day mails will be received OK and the next day will go to spam. This happens with existing contacts and new ones, and with webmail and Outlook.  I have a separate query on this.

I am having the exact same problem and it seems to be getting worse. I spoke to talk talk and they blamed hotmail and gmail providers, but it seems to happen randomly with many recipients.

i am now using web mail. do you have any ideas how i can sort this spam issue please. I email known recipients that i have emailed for many years and now it goes into their spam. so i have no idea who i receiving my communication or not. thank you

You'll need to start a thread of your own, @Flaneuse, for staff support. 

 

Please return to the message board and click on start a topic.

 

Staff only respond to the original poster and it helps give Talktalk a clearer picture of how many customers are affected by a particular issue if you post a new thread.

I am having the same problem, and it happens with people with whom I've had email exchanges (sending to and receiving from) in the past and with new recipients. It is obviously not feasible with the latter to ask them to add me to their safe senders list. I'm not getting rejection messages. I am using Outlook as installed on my computer.

Please encourage your recipients to add your email address to their contacts, whitelist you and let us know how it goes.

thanks- i;m not getting any rejection messages at all - so if its a recent increased effort by providers to clamp down on spam , if there noting i can do my side?

There are sites for checking reputation. however, I suspect other causes I mentoned are more likely to be the cause. Even if you receive a rejection message that informs you, for example, the email was rejected because it failed DKIM authentication, it does not tell you what caused it to fail DKIM authentication, although the service provider should be able to determine that. [I thought you may have received such a message, but now realise that what you posted was likely obtained from an online search.]

 

The recent occurrence is likely the result of increased efforts by providers to clamp down on spam and malicious emails.

TalkTalk is fine, when there are no issues, but getting issues resolved can be a real headache.
Incorrect information on TalkTalk help pages is unhelpful.

yes all the setting are correct. Is there anything lese you can suggest? it started  on 9 September out of the blue and I have had at least 6 people say emails have gone into their spam.

 

is it likely to be better if I use talktalk web mail rather than outlook to send emails? receiving is fine.

thank you and yes that is the correct understanding except i am not receiving a message stating that the email has been rejected by the recipient domain.

i have only found out by random people telling me they found a message in spam, or more recently me asking when I have not had a reply to people i have contacted 

 Is is also happening when using an email app on my Iphone - but no message stating that the email has been rejected by the recipient domain is received here either.

 

is there a way to check this: bad sending IP address or domain reputation, and failing authentication.

and why might it have started happening only in the last 2/3 weeks max?

It looks to me that @Philile-TT  has misread the issue that you have described. Her question relates to emails that you are receiving, rather than emails you are sending, which are arriving in recipients' spam folder.

 

Emails can arrive in the spam folder for various reasons, including the email content or attachments, bad sending IP address or domain reputation, and failing authentication. Subsequently, emails may be rejected and not arrive in the recipient's account.

 

When emails are rejected, the sender receives a message stating that the email has been rejected by the recipient domain, as it would appear has happened to you, from what you have shown in your last post.

 

Of late there has been a rise in the number of people reporting similar issues, which is likely the result of increased efforts by providers to clamp down on spam and malicious emails.

 

From reading your comments, it appears that this is happening when using Microsoft Outlook on your computer. Is is also happening when using an email app on your Iphone? What about when using webmail? If it happens when using webmail, then the issue ought to be escalated for further investigation.

TalkTalk is fine, when there are no issues, but getting issues resolved can be a real headache.

  • Verify Domain Authentication: 
    Ensure your domain has correctly configured SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records.
