Hi ClaireReece, I'm sorry for the delay in replying to your request for help. Unfortunately, when you post in another posters thread our workflow tool can't differentiate between the two and I've worked the OPs thread to conclusion.

In theory access should have been granted on Friday or today. More delays I guess.

Sorry

That all the information is correct and user names too.

do you know when IMAP access will be granted?

What? That you haven't put the Username as the full email address or that for some reason you did have the email address in and obscured part of the first part but manually cleared the Name and Username boxes and left JB just for the screenshot?

OR that with all of the correct information in place the password is still not authenticating which does suggest TalkTalk have not switched IMAP access back on.

The iPhone is capable of secure mail.

I don't see all of the settings yet. But I see it's an IMAP account for which the server port is 993 and SSL ON and Authentication PASSWORD

The outgoing server port is 587 and SSL ON and Authentication PASSWORD

IMPORTANT BIT

The Username for both incoming and outgoing servers must be the full email address.

Just let us know each mail collection service, each device, its operating system and email software including version that are in current use. Tell us all the ways you view your emails.

For a definitive check of settings take screenshots of the incoming and outgoing server settings, image edit to obscure the first part of the email address and upload here using the Camera icon (desktop browser) or Picture icon (mobile browser) above this reply area.

Ady will be able to tell if a mailbox has had device access withdrawn.

I offered at the outset to check your settings and device software for compatibility. Do you wish to try that?

Is there a way to know if normal function has been restored?

Ady said below allow 48hours but its now 5 days since then?

Thanks

Still not restored to normal function then... because the password cannot be authenticated until the device connection is switched back on. Or the old insecure settings are still present.

Hi JBoarders, I've added your mailbox to those to be restored to normal function. Please allow 48 hours for the change to complete.

You must use secure mail settings on supported email software and cease all connections to the mailbox that are made insecurely.

If you saw the message from TalkTalk advising "Our records show that you are still accessing your email using unencrypted email settings, because of this you will no longer be able to receive or send emails via this email app or software" then the email address receiving that notification has been limited to webmail only access as a last resort action by TalkTalk to stop the use of insecure email.

TalkTalk Mail webmail is secure by design using an up to date Internet browser.

Select here: Sign in to TalkTalk Mail

Enter your full TalkTalk Mail email address and password, select Sign in.

You will be able to get email access restored to email apps or software including mail collection services so long as you're ready to use up to date and secure email settings for all the ways you view emails. We can advise on device and software compatibility and provide customer setup guides. Just let us know each mail collection service, each device, its operating system and email software including version that are in current use.

So, tell us all the ways you view your emails.

For a definitive check of settings take screenshots of the incoming and outgoing server settings, image edit to obscure the first part of the email address and upload here using the Camera icon (desktop browser) or Picture icon (mobile browser) above this reply area.

When you confirm the secure settings are ready I can request TalkTalk Support to restore full access. TalkTalk Support will respond here and access will be restored usually within a couple of working days.
