Hi, I've been receiving a lot of spam for a long time now and surprise surprise I got hacked the other day - I sent details to phishing@talktalk.net and since then I have not had any emails into my Inbox. However I noticed that a Junk file has been set up and this contains recent emails - I have been on a live chat with talktalk and I was told that I would be assigned a Case Manager who would be in touch with me in 3 woring days - it has been over a week and no-one has been in touch. I have tried to open many live chats over the last 3 days and always get the same message that 'All agents are busy....blah blah' - Has any one else experienced this?

When you changed the password was it for a new and previously unused one for the mailbox? If it was then you should be safe for now.

Hi Billx
Thanks for your reply an in response to your questions
1. do any of your scam emails come with the 'friendly name' of the sender at the 'From:' field, but without being followed by the email address of the sender, between '<' and '>'?
No they are usually headed talkTalk; Ta1kTalk; Email security; or similarly mispelt (but close) names of companies and the company name does not appear in the email address.
2. were any of the incoming email addresses a talktalk address? (e.g. *.talktalk.co.uk, *.tiscali.co.uk, talktalk.net, etc)
Yes lots usually and talktalk.net
3. when was the 'Email Security' page removed?
I accessed it about 4 days ago and then when I went to go on it to answer your first response it wasn't there.
Cheers AndyGee

Hi, @AndyGee
Thanks for the reply.
Do you mean this page, which is at, "https://service.talktalk.co.uk/myaccount/help/select?journey=Email" and then click 'Email Security'?
Email
Yes, I just tested this page, but none of the links on it work, including the 'Email Security' link.
I had never been to this page, and since 'Email Security' is not available, I can still not get to it.
But recently I have been going to a different help page:
and clicking the link, recent examples of phishing emails we've stopped
I have also opened a new thread, related to these examples,
at https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/Email/Reporting-Spam-amp-Phishing-emails/m-p/3090394#M184422
In the meantime,

Hey Billx, I'm getting loads of phishing emails on a daily basis so giving the addresses would take forever. Suffice to say that I spend a good 10minutes a day blocking the addresses, including cc and reply to addresses (often from @talktalk.net) in each mail - I am now sending everything I get to phishing@talktalk.co.uk as individual files so hopefully they will get on top of it in time.
I did find a good examples page of the latest phishing scams on the Talktalk My Account Website by going to Help and Support, Mail, Security and then Phishing - however when I looked just now that page has been archived so I left some feedback and hopefully that page will return.
Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Are you going to tell the rest of us what form that email took?
Particularly, what was the TalkTalk 'From:' email address that that email had?
It would very helpful.
Thanks

Hi Ady, Thanks for your reply - to answer your questions
1. I did not put in place a mail filter to send my messages to another email address, when I looked in 'AUTO FORWARD' it was blank so I assumed that I was safe. I am finding that my inbox messages are appearing in a 'JUNK' file and I have assumed it was talktalk who were doing that - however since your message I am not sure that I am getting all emails.
2. I did change my password initially around 5 minutes after I had realised that I had been scammed i.e. 5 minutes after I put my password into a phishing email reply (I was expecting an email from talktalk about my bill so it seemed normal until I found that the website I was diverted to once I had entered my password was a @WEEBLY address and it was then I immediately changed my password).
So my questions are: Do you think my email account is secure and what do I do next if you don't?
Thanks
AndyGee

Hi AndyGee, there was a mail filter on your mailbox forwarding your mail away to another email address did you put that in place? Have you reset the mailbox password?
