Pipex email restricted to webmail

Hi,

I was slow in updating my email settings across all of my devices following changes to the server settings needed for legacy email address (pipex).

I've now changed my email settings to use SSL/TLS encryption and pointed my mail clients at the correct ports, but it would appear that my account has been restricted to webmail as Outlook/iOS/Android all prompt for my password (despite the same password working on webmail).

I've followed the steps set out in the thread created by NickCox99 and have added my email address as a private note within my account settings page.

Please could my account be reactivated so I can start receiving emails across my devices again.

Kind regards

M Chandler

Hi MChandler, I've added your mailbox to those to be restored to normal function. Please allow 48 hours for the change to complete.

I've asked that full access is restored for the mailbox email address in your Community profile, Personal information, Private notes. (Do check it's there - master pipex mailbox address if using an alias address)

TalkTalk Support will respond here and then restore MAP4 / POP3 access as soon as reasonably possible. Until full access is switched back on, ask the user to use TalkTalk Mail webmail via an up to date Internet browser to keep in touch with email contacts.

Are you confident that no help is necessary checking the services / devices / email software for compatibility with TLS 1.2 encryption and the incoming and outgoing server settings in use? Did you identify the insecure settings, for example? The culprit device or software that got a stop on sending or mailbox access switched off because ports 25 (SMTP) or 110 (POP) or 143 (IMAP) were used?
