I have a legacy account with TalkTalk and can no longer send emails.
Yet I have been a TalkTalk broadband customer for over 10 years.
I have updated my account record with my legacy email address.
Trying to talk to customer services is useless. They do not listen and just keep repeating what I say to them. It is as if they have no knowledge of the proposed use of Everymail (which I do NOT have to pay for because I am a broadband customer.
I have put my email address in private notes in my profile.
I'm totally frustrated with the whole process.

@leramnep The escalation submitted takes 48 working hours to be resolved. I had escalated this for you on the 5th; 48 working hours has not yet ended.

Instead of awarding me "badges" (I accept this is automated process but I am not six years old) I wouldprefer it if you would restore my ability to send emails.

My patience is coming to an end. It seems you can cut me off with ease but then cannot undo the damage you have done.
As you may be able to tell. I am becoming increasingly frustrated by TalkTalk's failures.

Is someone at TalkTalk able to provide me with a proper explanation for why they have not restored my ability to send emails?
I do not want meaningless platitudes. I want you to explain why you have failed me (and numerous other people it seems).

Well....
Over 48 hours have passed and I still cannot send emails.
TalkTalk has failed me.
This is very disappointing.
The banner is still across the top and says, "You are no longer able to send emails. You need to subscribe by 8 September 2025 to regain full access to your account."
If I try to draft a new email a box still pops up. It says, "Final Notice: Act Now or Lose Access to Your Email." plus a whole load of other information.
I would really appreciate a little less chat and a lot more positive action from TalkTalk. I am not impressed by your inability to solve a problem of your own creation.
Please provide some real customer service and restore my ability to send emails without any further delay.

My problem has now been escalated and I should be able to send emails in 48 hours. We'll see.
Thanks to those who have responded during what has been an unnecessarily frustrating process.
I will update when all is resolved.

The first sentence of my private notes specified the email address that needs linking to my account. It is a legacy @ukgateway.net email address. I have now repeated this address at several places in my private notes.
I have also listed four @talktalk.net accounts. These four accounts are defunct. Because I did not use them they were disabled by TalkTalk and I was told that they could not be resurrected. They are irrelevant to my problem.
It is the ukgateway.net account that needs to be linked to my broadband account so that TalkTalk can then allow me to send emails again.

@leramnep Please update the details so that I can assist you with this. The team is currently working on sorting this and some community members have confirmed that they are now able to utilize emails.

It is now Tuesday 5 August 2025. I am still unable to send emails. I first raised a query (by telephone customer services) on 18 July. In my opinion it is taking TalkTalk far too long to resolve this problem. It is a problem of their creation. It seems it was simple enough to flick a switch to stop me sending emails but it is now going to take weeks to flick the switch back. The banner on my email says I have to subscribe to Everymail by 8 September. Time is running out, TalkTalk. Please act.

@leramnep there are 5 emails that are linked into your account, Penelope. I am reading your private notes, and it does not specific the email address. Please send me a private message with all your emails to check if it the correct on the account so that I can assist you further. Alternatively, please update this information on your private notes.

My concern is that TalkTalk should never have put their customers in this position. And having created this mess, seem unable to resolve it. I am unimpressed with their customer service. It consists of lots of talk but no action.

I have NOT subscribed to Everymail. The whole point is I do not need to. I have a broadband account with TalkTalk.
TalkTalk now needs to reinstate my ability to send emails WITHOUT FURTHER DELAY.
I am impatient with TalkTalk. They created this problem and seem unwilling to resolve it (or just too incompetent to resolve it).
I am one very unhappy customer.

Staff will not be able to follow up before Monday. They are on here Monday to Friday, c 8am - 6pm.
It will really help if you can check back during the day, after the weekend. They should have all the information they need now to keep all your email addresses associated with your ongoing My Account.
Meanwhile hopefully Talktalk/Everymail are going to be beavering away to find a solution for this issue ASAP. There are many of you in a similar boat.

Upon reviewing your account, I noticed that there are multiple email addresses linked to it, while your private notes only include one. To facilitate the escalation process, please provide all the email addresses associated with your account in your private notes. Such threats concern me. Since I have TalkTalk broadband I do not expect to have to subscribe to Everymail.
