Secondary email authentication failed

For about a week my secondary email will not log in citing an authentication error.  I have changed the password as advised by TalkTalk help still cannot access. My iPhone app keeps asking for the password; I've checked all the settings - all correct.

I can log into Webmail and view my main account email but have error on the secondary account, no emails are showing despite some historical ones in the inbox on my phone and in Outlook.

Any ideas please?

Hi there @Kaz6p, please confirm if you are still experiencing the same issue?

There is no service in webmail; the line with the email address has a triangle with an exclamation mark; there are no emails in the folder (although I can see the historical emails on my phone)

@Kaz6p

You have tagged your post with IMAP. Presumably that applies to the secondaryy account. Can you send and receive using the secondary email account in webmail?

If the settings are correct (the same as for the primary account that is working) and it's failing authentication using an application but not with webmail, then it may be that access using an application has been disabled. If so, you may be able to resolve that yourself. I will wait until you have confirmed whether the account functions using webmail, before providing further details.

TalkTalk is fine, when there are no issues, but getting issues resolved can be a real headache.
Incorrect information on TalkTalk help pages is unhelpful.
