In the past week, 3 people have told me that emails sent by me, to them, have gone straight into their spam folder. I don't know why this is happening (obviously they are not spam!) or what I can do to prevent it happening in future. Can anyone help? I normally send emails from my laptop, using Microsoft Edge.

Gmail are dropping TalkTalk's fully authenticated mail into spam folders without any check on it being spam or not. Just kindly ask your recipients to select your emails in the Spam folder and mark as Not spam. This will tell Gmail not to put your future messages into the spam folders.
