TT Error Message

Hello,

As of this morning my Talktalk email isn't working.  I'm getting this message:

"Login to server imap.talktalk.net with username XXXX @talktalk.net failed.  Retry or Enter new Password"

What has happened?  Is it coincidence that Talktalk sent me an email a day or so ago telling me about some new improved mailbox?  I was quite happy with the old one!

So, is this problem caused by Talktalk?  Please get back to me quickly.  Thanks.

Glad to hear it's working now, I'm sorry for any confusion. If you are experiencing problems it's always worth checking here - Service Status | TalkTalk Help & Support - we try to update the service status page as soon as possible if there's an email incident affecting a number of customers

Chris, yes, it seems to be working now.

 

Just to say, error messages like the one I had (and apparently many others have had) tend to strike fear into my heart, not knowing what to do, or even to do nothing.  Continually changing passwords is a nightmare particularly if they are unnecessary as in this case.  Can't the system alert us in some other way to a TT problem or email incident?

There was an email incident this morning which should now be resolved. Can you please retest and let us know how you get on

TT have needed to do something for years, but it never seems to get fixed properly.

 

Personally I'm in the process of moving everything I depend on email for across from TalkTalk to my own Microsoft 365 account. That very very rarely has issues. In fact almost never compared to the scale TalkTalk has.

 

Once completed my TalkTalk email is going to be left for the garbage emails.
