Talk Talk email going into spam folder and can't access my regular Community account.

I am a regular poster with the Community and have posted for many years. Now if I try to post with my usual account it sends the verification code to my email (a dsl.pipex one) and it ends up in the webmail spam folder! Other talk talk emails do the same! When find it and I enter the emailed verification code it tells me I have to link it to my account (which I did a long time ago!) . When I click Continue it tells me I am already linked but doesn't let me in to my page.. The only way I have found to post this item is to create a new login GG64 (I was formerly GG63). All started since the email system upgrade a few weeks ago.
Anyone had this problem?
Can't believe TalkTalk label their own emails as spam!
What is happening? How do I get back to my old login?

Hi @GEG64
'but all other TalkTalk emails still arrive'. What I had said earlier, is how to do it. You have to do the same for all the other TalkTalk official email addresses that are going to the Spam folder.
About 'validation codes not arriving immediately' I don't know about that.
It could be the legacy TalkTalk email address. I use an x@tiscali.co.uk email address. There is no delay.

Hi @GEG64 It's a common problem hope it gets sorted soon, I find that emails from the forum and notifications, intermittently don't arrive at all or very late, useless as the rides are only valid for 10 mins ! .... Also some emails randomly go to spam ....... text time I get an email from the same person it doesn't...

Yes Bill I did that as you said and accessed the Allow list. The validation code emails now arrive in my Inbox but all other TalkTalk emails still arrive in the Spam folder. See the thread further about the problem of validation codes arriving beyond the default expiry time of 10 mins.
I have a valid TalkTalk email address that I use but it is one of the legacy ones- a "dsl.pipex.com" one. Had it from when TalkTalk took over Tiscali who had previously taken over Pipex.

Thanks Gliwaemaeden2
Useful info
I have a Yahoo account too so might do a redirect for it. However it got to the stage that I was so fed up with TalkTalk's email problems on and off over the last few years that I changed the default address with anyone or any organisation I was dealing with to my Yahoo address.! So I don't have that many emails now going into my TalkTalk address.

Hi, @GEG64
I haven't been following this thread.
When I answered on 22-03-2025 01:32 PM, I said first Open TalkTalk webmail.
By that, I meant to go to https://apps.talktalk.co.uk/appsuite and enter your TalkTalk email address and password.
Is that what you did, and did you get to 'Allowlist' ?
Also, do you login to your main TalkTalk MyAccount with a TalkTalk email address or a non-TalkTalk email address?

No updates and there are unlikely to be any any time soon, @GerryMac with staff off at weekends.
You are really better to post your own topic for this, as, unless there are separate threads for each person, Talktalk's systems only see one individual's problem under one topic.

Hi,
Have been suffering with this over the past week or so, even to the point I installed the TT Web Mail App. I had been using the Samsung Email App but the verification code was taking maybe 3/4 hours to arrive in my Spam box, I could not post up any messages on here as the time had elapsed. With TT Mail App it,s arriving into the Junk box also.
Just now, I tried again on PC and the code is now arriving in the Junk Box, as well as other correspondence form TT Community.
Is there any up-date on to why this has happened and Is there any settings that need to be changed for these to be received into Inbox, as before?

All notifications about PMs end up in my Spam Yahoo account, @GEG64, and I don't otherwise have my profile set to send them, as it would just clutter everything up.
But the codes and bills come to my Yahoo inbox.
Nothing to do with what I have set up in Yahoo, but it shows that their system distinguishes between really important stuff and "other"!

Thanks Gliwmaeden2 for your prompt reply
Just now as an experiment I emailed my TalkTalk email from my Yahoo Email Account. It arrived in my TalkTalk webmail instantly! So I then logged out of my Community Account and attempted a logon again. The verification code arrived instantly in my TalkTalk email as well!!
So it looks like either:-
1 They have sorted out the problem with the delayed verification code
or
2 It is an intermittent problem but eventually one gets a code within 10 mins.
So I suppose the advice to people would be if a verification code arrives late keep plugging away until one arrives in time!
And always check the Spam folder! Whilst the verification code notification and my Yahoo email arrived in the Inbox, your notification ended up in the Spam folder!! So TalkTalk still sometimes think it is a spammer!!

We have reported that there can be problems with this, but there's no sign of much of a follow up....

Thanks for your reply Gliwmaeden2
Don't need to do a search as I usually have very few emails in my inbox at any one time, only very recent ones. I use a third party email client (Outlook) on my PC, download them to my PC and it is set to delete the email in the original inbox. Been doing this for many years. Of course Outlook only downloads emails from the Inbox not the Spam Folder but I have access to my TalkTalk webmail via my PC and my phone so I can check if anything is in the Spam Folder. (or Inbox)
So it clearly is not being lost in the Inbox.
Prior to the update of the Webmail system I usually never found anything in the Spam folder so this problem is related to the recent upgrade to the new system which I understand has been outsourced.
I cannot understand why TalkTalk cannot send an immediate email with an authorisation code to my TalkTalk email address to arrive within 10 minutes of it saying it's sent it. After all both are in its own system. I could understand it more if it was sending it to another non-TalkTalk email or to a phone.
I'm clearly not the only one affected with this problem.. Do you know if TalkTalk doing anything to sort it out?

@GEG64, if an activation code doesn't arrive immediately do a search for anything from Talktalk in your inbox.
Often a preliminary search brings up just recent old ones, not the newest one, but if you push it to look back 6 months, suddenly the new one is drawn into the display of all emails.
I find it works every time like this.
That's with me using a Yahoo address, so there are problems whichever you use.
Similarly, getting a code sent as a text is only as good as your mobile operator's service on the day.

Bill
The major problem is the activation code arrives long after the 10 minute expiry time for the code (sometimes days!).
Why is this happening and are TalkTalk doing anything about it and I am not the only one having this problem!?

No reply from a moderator as yet about this major problem we are having.
Only verification codes are now arriving in the inbox all other emails from TalkTalk still going to spam.
Some verification codes are actually taking days to arrive !! Got one today that I was supposed to be sent on Sunday!!

Well the TalkTalk emails for verification went into the inbox after following Bill's recommendations but the notification of your post went into spam! So all is not sorted out by this change.
I agree the worst thing is the long time it takes emails with the verification code to reach either our email inbox or spam folder!
Please could a moderator comment as to why there is such a delay . It is vital that a verification code that has a strict expiry time limit is sent at once and arrives in the TalkTalk users inbox more or less immediately or some people may not end up being able to access their TalkTalk account at all. A delay with other emails may not be critical but these are! We need a second alternative access option if this cannot be relied on eg mobile number. They have our mobile numbers anyway so there is no reason why this cant be a second option. Assuming of course that they wouldn't be delayed as well!

I have the same problem - nearly going insane with the whole thing. Verification code goes into spam folder, but not for hours!
I will try the suggestion and see what happens.
I too, set up a new profile for the very same reason that it did not recognise my old one. How do I get to my old one - which I am a whizz kid! Neither a whizz or a kid unfortunately.
I only managed to be able to reply by getting into community via a very long winded route through My Account. What a palaver.

Well Bill it worked in one sense but it took about 20 minutes for the email to appear in my inbox by which time the code would have expired as the limit is 10 minutes !. So I logged into my main TalkTalk Account itself on my PC , which logs on without verification by email at the moment, then loaded the Communities Support page and when I clicked the logon logo it recognised me and allowed access to my Communities Account. Very strange?!
So it looks like there are problems, with not only TalkTalk messages entering the spam folder, but it can also take a long time for the email to be sent, by which time the code would have expired. I am concerned that I may actually be unable to get into my actual main TalkTalk Account itself at some time in the future. Can I change the verification to my mobile number instead of my email address. Most organisations allow that. Alternatively I have a Yahoo email address.

Right Bill
I've done that. Just copy/pasted myaccount@myaccount.talktalk.co.uk into the box. Assume that's what you meant rather than my email account which is a dsl.pipex.com one.
Lets see what happens.

Hi @GEG64
To get your TalkTalk Community verification code, going to your Inbox folder, instead of your Spam folder:
Open TalkTalk webmail
At the top, click the Cogwheel --> click 'All settings' --> Scroll down --> Click 'Access lists' --> you will default to 'Allowlist' --> Click 'Add new address'
--> Enter "myaccount@myaccount.talktalk.co.uk" in the message box --> Click 'Add'
--> Exit the the 'Mail screen'
All done
Bill
