Talk Talk is blocking my outgoing Emails.

Last Monday I discovered I was unable to send my bigpond.net.au emails. I could receive emails ok but couldn't send them. This came without any warning or other notification. I also could not send them from my iphone or ipad. My wife who shares a similar ISP bigpond.net.au has the same issue.

I could send emails from other email addresses such as gmail but not from bigpond addresses

At first I thought it was the ISP (Telstra) who holds my bigpond email address so I contacted them and they advised they were not blocking my emails. I also could send emails via webmail from their web page.

After further investigation I found I could send emails from my Iphone and ipad using mobile data but not via my home wifi.

This weekend,I stayed at a hotel and had no issues sending bigpond emails from all my devices

The only conclusion I can come to us that for whatever reason Talk Talk has placed a block on sending bigpond.net.au emails.

How can I get this block removed?

Hi @Alwaine1 sorry to add another voice to your thread. Have you tried changing the Dns settings in your router or using a VPN?

I don't work here and all my opinions are my own.

Thanks for contacting me. My internest works ok ( I can use google etc), but unfortunately I am still unable to send emails

Tried sending a test  email to mayself but it came up with the error msg (sending reported error (0x800CCC0F): ' The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your server administrator or internet service provider (ISP)'

Hi

I am now back in the UK and am experiencing the same problems with emails to my xxxx@bigpond.net.au being blocked by Talk Talk.

When I was away, I was able to use my computer withoout any issues and could send and receive emal from this address wihtout any issues.

Now that I am back, I can only receive emails to this address. I can send emails from my gmail account without issue and I can send emails when I am connected to other ISPs.

Hence, I believe the issue must be due to Talk Talk blocking this address and I would urgently as for your assistance to unblock it

Thanks

Alan

@Alwaine1, please do notify once you are back in the UK.

They'll only be able to follow up properly when you are back in the UK, @Alwaine1, obviously, as there's no way for them to check till you use Talktalk from home.

Yes I am away for a couple of months so I won’t be able to check until I return to the U.K. in the meantime I’m hoping that Talk Talk will have investigated and found the fault in their system. Do you know if this has been done?  Here in Australia, I am having no issues with my email but that was the case in the UK with every other ISP except my Talk Talk connection.

@Gliwmaeden2 thank you. I guess he will get back to us once they are able to test and see.

@Philile-TT, see post # 12.

@Alwaine1 said they would be in Australia for a couple of months, so currently have no way to check what's happening as the problem only occurs when using Talktalk's wifi.

It seems my auto-correct may have mixed up the last sentence of my paragraph. It was supposed to say:

Also I cannot understand why I can send emails from the domain's website via their webmail application.

My current status is that with all my devices, I can receive and send emails from any service ( including mobile data) other than Talk Talk.  With Talk Talk. I can only receive emails but I cannot send them. It must be obvious that Talk Talk is blocking them?

I would appreciate it if this blockage could please be removed.

I did this before contacting Talk Talk and they checked and confirmed there was no blockage on the email address of my wife nor myself. This seems correct as I can send emails from other Internet providers but not Talk Talk. Also, I cannot understand why send emails from their website via webmail.

@Alwaine1, could you kindly double check on your email settings to see if the email domain you are trying to send to if it's not blocked.

Ok, the details are as shown below

ASUS Zenbook  A14

Apple iPhone 16

Apple iPhone 11

Apple iPad 10th generation

Apple Air

All exhibit exactly the same issue. They can receive but not send emails xxxx@bigpond.net.au (two different accounts) but they cannot send emails when connected to TalkTalk.

However, when connected to mobile data or another internet service, they all function correctly. They can send and receive emails with a xxxx@ bigpond address.

Also when the above items are connected to Talk Talk I can send and receive emails with other addresses such as gmail.

As I have previously said, this points to an issue with the Talk Talk service.

@Alwaine1, usually when staff ask which devices you are using they need more specific replies,  eg which model of iPhone  / iPad  / laptop and the latest software on them.

It might help if you could post what these are as staff need more information to work with.

Na,busco Understood. Last Sunday I mentioned the devices I was using and on Tuesday ,I repeated them. ie laptop, iphone, ipad and they all were experiencing the same issue - ie being able to receive not not able to send emails via bigpond.net.au.

I am now in Melbourne Australia where I can send and receive emails without making any changes to my devices . Hence I am 100% certain the issue is not with any of the devices but with the Talk Talk system blocking the bigpond.net.au address.

It will be a couple of months before I return to the UK and so I would appreciate it if in the meantime you could please check out your system to find and remove the blockage in order that I can have full internet access when I return. You assistance in this is appreciated.
