Hello. Has anyone had success updating their email settings on windows mail (on windows 10)? Anyone can show a setting example?
What do we put in username? Is that the same as email address? I'm not sure if that one is critical.
At the moment via windows mail on old settings can receive but not send email.

The error code usually relates to a Windows installation problem. You may need to run a Windows troubleshooter to get diagnostic information. I cannot tell from the code what the exact problem is.

The change mailbox settings is greyed out form that windows menu. But I don't know if this error in the windows mail settings helps discern the issue? After trying to enter all the email settings.

Set up via the Advanced setup settings of an email profile, as in this example for Windows 10 / 11.
At that point on your device you ought to see the Sync Options setup to enter the TalkTalk Mail server settings: Select Done

Hello. I put in the details in settings but got an error message that it was not successful. So the settings are not saved. Not sure what to try next. From the above it seems the Account name is irrelevant right? I put the email address for username.

The Username is always the full email account email address and that must be the same for receiving and sending mail by the incoming and outgoing mail servers.

The username must be set to the full email address:-
e.g.
