Yes your iPad will work without error messages and when it does you'll know.

The request for restore of IMAP access is in. I'd say usually within 24 hours of TalkTalk Support authorising the resumption of IMAP access.

Perfectly capable of supporting secure mail.

Make sure SSL is on, and there's password authentication. Incoming port 993 for IMAP secure and outgoing port 587. Incoming server host name is mail.talktalk.net outgoing is smtp.talktalk.net but the device will only authenticate a connection when TalkTalk Support restore IMAP access for you.
