emails not arriving

Despite everything being said in numerous posts, emails via TalkTalk servers (smtp.talktalk.net) are not arriving at certain destinations.

This is not restricted to forwarding as is being asserted many times. It is affecting direct emails.

I am now sending tests daily from my tiscali a/c to gmail, yahoo and to a private domain which I manage. Tests to the private domain have always arrived just to prove that they do leave the TalkTalk server.

As at 4/1, emails would not arrive at gmail or yahoo, and that had been the case for about a month. The good news is that by 7/1 emails are being received at gmail. The bad news is that today (8/1) they are still not being received by yahoo.

There has to be an assumption that emails do get delivered although occasional mishaps are understandable. But when non-delivery is persistent, there's a serious problem. And when the existence of the problem is denied by support, that is not just a reputation issue for the email system, it's a reputation issue for support.

What happens when an email is not delivered depends on the receiving system's actions. If the receiving system kills the message silently (and btinternet is renowned for this) the sending system has no error report to review and I can appreciate that TalkTalk support wouldn't see anything as an alert. But that doesn't alter the fact that the message wasn't delivered.

It really would be appreciated if support did a little more digging rather than just denying the multiple reports which have been made on this forum.

At 9/1:  There has been some improvement. Messages to Yahoo are now being accepted albeit with about an 18h delay. Messages to Gmail and my private domain are being delivered immediately.
