Attaching an Alternative email address or Mobile phone via TalkTalk webmail,
for renewing the password of a TalkTalk email address

In https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/Articles/Managing-TalkTalk-Mail/ta-p/3082194
-->Adding & updating your recovery details, it says:
Log into Mail
From the menu bar select your Profile Icon on the far right then select Update your reset details
Add or change the Mobile phone number
Add or change Alternative email address
When complete, select Save
That's it, so if you ever forget your password you can select either of these alternative contacts and we can send you a secure link to change your password.
THIS IS THE CORRECT VERSION

Log into your TalkTalk mail via Webmail
From the burger menu (3 stacked lines) on the right of the screen or cog wheel if using mobile select Update your reset details
Add or change the Mobile phone number
Add or change Alternative email address
When complete, select Save, I was staing
That's it, so if you ever forget your password you can select either of these alternative contacts and we can send you a secure link to change your password.
THIS IS THE WRONG VERSION

The only difference is that one starts, by correctly selecting the Profile Icon

I wasn't querying anything, just stating something I had checked.
This might help others from being misdirected, or distracted,

The second article contains a link through to the information in the first article.

The first article didn't come up for me in a search for "recovery email", only through the link in the second article.

Perhaps Talktalk needs to catch up on a bit of housekeeping with these information links?
