legacy email question

I use a legacy email - gotadsl eg) <myemail>@gotadsl.co.uk

My wife uses an email account based on mine ie) Wife@<myemail>.gotadsl.co.uk

Setting up my email on android is a relatively simple affair

But my wifes, secondary email never works the same way....

The port / mail server settings are totally different (when I try my own settings it fails) pop3 or imap......

This is the same when using any email app (gmail, outlook, thunderbird or whatever)

Why should that be ?

Edison Mail is not one I've tried yet but the appearance and features look good. Nice one.

I appreciate your time to let me know. Thank you.

@GondolaThanks - sorted - after trying several different Email apps  - the OH decided that she approved of Edison Mail - it is a simple program to set up and works ......

OK Weevie, I hope you and the family are good.

Let me know the outcome. As gotadsl is a legacy domain managed by TTB that's hosted on the APM Internet servers (the overssl mail servers) I can test that the servers are working and that individual mailboxes are live but only when I know the email address.

Your email address is the master mailbox address. Your wife's email address is an alias for the master mailbox address.

The settings for both should be the same.

Email Client Server Settings

Inbound Server: mail.overssl.net
Port: 993 (IMAP) or 995 (POP3)
Select SSL/TLS or TLS/SSL

Outbound Server: mail.overssl.net
Port: 465
Select SSL/TLS or TLS/SSL

If you need a double check on the incoming and outgoing server settings then screenshot, image edit out the first part of the email address and upload here using the Camera icon (desktop browser) or Picture icon (mobile browser) above this reply area.
