Can I just check, are you using webmail or an email client?

 

Would it be possible to post a screenshot of the error message you are receiving?

 

Could you also confirm your user settings for SMTP?

I have just chatted to an agent.  I had to tell them that the problem is far wider than Tiscali but covers all the domains they have subsumed over the years.  I long for the PIPEX days when postmasters ran email servers, when upgrades and maintenance slots were checked before being put back on line and when it was a reliable service.  These days they cannot even put up a service status message to acknowledge that there is a fault.
