spam email saying old Talktalk accounts will be deactivated.

Another strange email to my tiscali email address. From a virgin media email address -   basically saying

All old versions of TalkTalk accounts will stop receiving email messages due to recent security upgrades.  Please click the button below to avoid service interruption. New Version   
Failure to do this within 24 hours, your account will be deactivated.

 Obviously spam.   Forwarded to phishing and deleted.   These are a nuisance and intended to panic people into following link.   Hopefully no-one falls for it! 

I do wonder why I have started receiving more of this type of email though?

Yes, I worried me for about 10 secs. ! Untill I checked the source address hope everyone stays alert

Scammers always spot an opportunity and last year we had to check our settings for loading mail to phone apps etc, so genuine emails were sent out.

Anything already in the public mind gets exploited, so, yes, we need to be wary.

I'm getting the same messages re Hotmail. They are actually from the same talktalk address each time....!

Always go to Spam, but it's the same sender. Can't help wondering if it's a real Talktalk couple.....!
