I have had an email asking to verify my account or it will be disconnected.  is this a scam as I have tried to login but my details are not accepted.

Unless you were trying to register for a TalkTalk system, such as MyAccount that might want to verify your email address, then this is 100% a scam.

The TalkTalk Community has now moved to a peer-to-peer support model. This means that the TalkTalk team will no longer be here to support with queries.
