What application are you trying to access on your TV that would need your shell password?
Isn't your shell password used to access your account or router?
Are you trying to set up your TV to receive Wi-Fi? If so passwords are case sensitive so please check this. Also check the signal strength to the TV.
If its not this, Please explain what you are trying to access, how and why you think your shell password should give you access and any error messages you get.
