Constant router disconnects

This evening, my router (TP-Link Archer VR2100) disconnected and reconnected at least half a dozen times over the course of about 90 minutes. Each time it was increasingly slow in terms of sync speed and is currently syncing at 25949 when it should be 40000 plus.

Nothing has changed, either with hardware, cabling  or location and it looked very much like a fault on the line.

Any help would be appreciated.

We would have to run checks so we're able to pick it up, can you please confirm the speeds you are currently getting?

The sync rate is still too low and the fact that it restarted multiple times on Saturday evening (and, clearly, at least once overnight) is a big concern. Are you able to confirm to me that there is absolutely no external line issue?

That's wonderful news, please do let us know should the issue occur again so we can run diagnostic checks.

Yes, i am at home.  Router seems to have become more stable and is currently syncing at 34999, having been up for nearly 7 hours.  Was stable yesterday evening as well.

Thanks for those comments. I'm just trying to locate the power supply for my TalkTalk router and I'll swap them over when/if I manage that.

@philipm, if you use the Talktalk router, as suggested by Divsec, you should be able to run a line check.

You go to Service Status Dashboard and then click on My Connection to find the information relating to your service. You don't need to log into My Account to do this as My Connection recognises your service automatically when you use Talktalk equipment.

Hi @philipm your post has been escalated and you should hear tomorrow in the meantime I suggest trying your TalkTalk supplied router to eliminate the Archer as causing the fault.

I don't work here and all my opinions are my own.
